Contribute towards the purchase of State of Israel Chai Bonds  for an Associated Bar Mitzvah boy or Bat Mitzvah girl. 

The Parent Teacher Council  of Associated Hebrew Schools is pleased to offer you an opporttunity to participate in an exciting and meaningful new programme for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students at AHS--The "We're Associated with Bonds" Bar/Bat Mitzvah gift registry. We have joined the other major day schools in Toronto and are taking advantage of a unique opportunity to

a) Give meaningful gifts to our children's classmates while simultaneously performing a mitzvah

b) Teach our children about investing in the State of Israel through the purchase of Israel Mazel Tov Bonds

c) Simplify the gift giving process

All families of children who are planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah will be invited to participate, but participation is voluntary, both for the recipients and for the donors. It will be really quite simple. The programme is designed to work like a bridal registry. You start by completing the attached form to register your child. We will provide you with an insert to be sent with the invitations to classmates, and a pre-addressed envelope for guests to return with their cheque. Contributions can be made before and after the simcha, until a pre-determined date.

Once your child's registry is closed your child will receive a letter stating how many Mazel Tov Bonds have been purchased, as well as information about who contributed to the registry and how much was given by each. More importantly, your child will take pride in having contributed to the building of the State of Israel. Five years later the bonds, which cost $100, will have matured. The Bar/Bat Mitzvah will receive a cheque in the mail for  aproximately $125 for each bond received, and the connection to Israel will be strengthened. Let's teach our children to invest in their Jewish values.
